• Gameplay data: your scores, guesses, streaks, leaderboard entries, and league participation.
• Subscription & billing data: if you purchase a paid plan, your payment is processed by our payment partner (Paytm). We do not store your full UPI ID, card, or bank details on our servers; we retain only the subscription status, plan, and payment references needed to provide the service.
• Usage & device data: anonymous analytics such as feature usage and general device/browser information, used to improve the product.
• Local storage: we store your theme preference and in-progress results in your browser's local storage so the game works smoothly across sessions.

How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the game and its features.
• To operate accounts, streaks, leaderboards, and leagues.
• To process subscriptions, renewals, and cancellations.
• To respond to support requests and communicate service updates.
• To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or technical issues.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate Khoj, including:

• Supabase - authentication and database hosting.
• Paytm - payment processing for subscriptions.
• Hosting and analytics providers that support the running of the service.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by emailing us at vatsalgoel.98@gmail.com. You may also delete your account, which removes your associated personal data subject to any legal retention requirements.

Children's privacy

Khoj is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
